Intro

The ministry of social welfare and rehabilitation was established on the 23rdJuly 2007 as a response by Government to years of neglect of social services in the state.

The mandate of the ministry is to provide social services to families, juvenile, children, orphans, the physically and indigent poor.

Projects

  1. Successfully trained a physically challenged person (IhunwoNkenna King, Blind) at the Nigeria farm craft centre for the Blind, IsheriOlofin, Lagos for one year course in vocational training for the blind.
A total number of one hundred and twenty seven (127) lunatics, beggars, and destitute are presently been cared for in the rehabilitation centre at iriebe.
Over five hundred (500) juvenile and young person went through the remand home from the court.
One thousand (1000) juvenile and young people went through the remand home,that were beyond parental control while, two hundred (200) juvenile and young persons went through remand home on care and protection.
Medical social work unit assisted over five hundred indigenous patients through faith based organizations, etc.
