Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP), Commissioner for Housing, Rivers State, was born on 11th August 1957 at Ibaa Town, in Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State.
He had his primary education at CKS Oromineke Port Harcourt and had his First School Leaving Certification in 1972. From there he moved to Community Secondary School, Ibaa, and had his West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) in 1978 with flying colours.
After the secondary education, Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP) had a stint with working life as an auxiliary teacher with Rivers State Government, (1978 – 1980).
The desire to improve and develop himself, push Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP) to further his education at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (1980 – 1984), as it was known, graduating with a second class upper division. On graduation Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP) went for his National Youth Service Corp programme at the then Gongola State Ministry of Works, Wukari (1984 – 1985).
From 1985 – 1986 Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP) gained employment into the Rivers State Civil Service as a Master Grade II teacher and was deployed to Community Secondary School. Elele-Alimini. From there he transferred his service to the Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development as Head, Federal land Division, Rivers State. In 2015, he voluntarily retired from the service and then went into active politics.
In September 2017, His Excellency Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo WIke, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa), appointed Elder (Hon.) Tasie Chinedu Nwobueze (JP) as Commissioner, Ministry of Housing. A position he credibly handled till the end of the Governor’s first tenure on May 29, 2019.
